“Snow Yetis Allowed” - Connections Education 2012 Holiday Card
This project was the total brainchild of myself and 2 other animators working at Connections Education. Our only direction was to create a company-wide (students and teachers included) holiday card. We had just finished the Signature Course, another animation-heavy project, and wanted to keep up our momentum. Over the course of a few months we developed the concept/message, story, character designs, storyboard, and animation. With a little help from our AV studio I recorded all of the sound effects and voices myself. I created foley effects with some props such as twigs, gloves, and a bucket of ice, and created many of the sounds with my voice.
This project was met with rave reviews throughout the company, and served as a showcase of our small animation team’s creative potential. It was loved by the students and teachers, and earned praise from the CEO, Barbara Dreyer. We had planned to make more Chilly Chum adventures for the following years’ holiday cards, but time constraints and increased workload meant that we no longer had enough time to produce one.
